James Zeller is a multi-insturmentalist bandleader who has been devoted to music since he was 12 years old. He sings and plays trombone and guitar in his current working groups, the James Zeller Trio and the Ponies Of Harmony. He also performs solo as a singing pianist or guitarist.

James writes and performs songs in many genres. Influences on his vocal stylings include Willie Nelson, Chet Baker, Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra.

 

Highlights from 17 years working as a musician in NYC include appearing on a platinum album, performances with Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center, working with the great Billy Nemec and the Blue Vipers of Brooklyn, performing with trombone hero Slide Hampton and leading his own trio for 5 performance packed years.
