the Humboldt Jazz Collective
The Humboldt Jazz Collective represents a handful of world class Jazz musicians living in Humboldt County. They "come before" all the great artists in the tradition that includes Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk, grateful for the chance to do honor them and the music.

Members
The Collective (as it's name implies) has a variety of members. Here are a few of them:
*James Zeller (trombone, occasional vocalist and pianist). Zeller has performed with the likes of the Jimmy Heath Orchestra, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Village Vanguard Orchestra and Slide Hampton.
“Tree” (Viola, chromatic harp alto, soprano, tenor and baritone saxophones) has performed with Harry "Sweets Edison, Teddy Edwards, the Red Hot Chili Peppers among many many more.
The all-star local rhythm section is Gabe Lubowe on piano, Danny Gaon on upright bass and Ramsey Isaacs.
